Tevos offers a mildly concerned look to her old friend when her expression turns grim for a moment or two. “…Are you feeling alright, Lyzio?” The asari asks, her grip on the other matriarch’s hand growing tighter. “You look pale.”
The councilor’s intuition tells her that Lyzio is dancing around saying something and she assumes it must be about Liselle or Aria, but she doesn’t say anything. She appreciates it.
“Thank you. …but know that if you are busy, do not hesitate to take your leave.” Tevos says, gingerly reaching for Lyzio’s other hand. Always professional, but Tevos allows a small bit of comfort to herself. She heard of her daughter’s death and couldn’t tell anyone, she was alone. She needs this. She’s been strong for so long, trying to hide away her feelings so someone along the line wouldn’t get suspicious of something.
“Yes, how are your daughters?” Tevos asks, making sure to use that word.. “I have not seen them in years.” Her lips curl into a faint, albeit pleasant smile.
"I’m fine, Tevos,” Lyzio says, letting herself smile, the expression genuine. Her nerves are settling down, and the tense feeling in her shoulders is beginning ebb away. She notices Tevos reaching for her other hand, and she lifts it up to hers, taking it gently.
The question about her daughters does make her pause. She’s a little surprised that Tevos would ask her such a question, all things considered, but it makes her feel a little better. She looks down for a moment, that smile still on her face.
“They’re good,” she says. “Still with the commandos. My youngest finally settled down, like her sister did. She’s got two little rugrats now.” A pause. “Both are on Thessia. They got deployed ahead of me.”
Tevos’s grip on her friend’s hands tightens immediately and she listens to her friends words.
“I am very glad to hear that they are well. Would you all like to have dinner at my house, soon?” Tevos asks, “When our schedules all settle down, of course.”
She is beyond glad that her old friend’s family is doing well. It would simply break her heart if something were to ever happen, because after all, Tevos and Lyzio have been friends for goddess knows how long, and so the children of both families grew up very close.
